How to Make Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with an Ice Cream Machine

Time: 10 Minute Prep + Overnight Bowl Freeze


Step 1

Garner the ingredients:

1 ¹/₂ Cups Whole Milk

3 Cups Heavy Cream

1 Cup Cane Sugar

1 Tablespoon Vanilla Extract

Step 2

Measure the ingredients out.

Step 3

Pull out the mixing bowl and method of stirring.

Step 4

Pour the milk and vanilla in the mixing bowl and begin to stir in the sugar gradually.

Step 5

Once the sugar is in, slowly add in the heavy cream.

Step 6

(Optional Step) Once all ingredients are in, cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 - 24 hours.

Step 7

Prep the ice cream churn by freezing the bowl seen in the next step. We are using a Cuisinart, but others work much the same.

Step 8

Freeze the inner bowl overnight.

Step 9

Pour the ice cream mix into the inner bowl.

Step 10

Churn, churn, churn!

Step 11

When it looks like this, you are done.

Step 12

You have soft serve ice cream! Freeze this bowl if you want it to be the consistency of store ice cream.
